The Black Morass, another instance in Caverns of Time that has been in the game since it was released during november 2004. This is the part where players will aid Medivh in the opening of the dark portal, that will eventually corrupt the land surrounding it, resulting in the Blasted Lands.

The Black Morass is the area now known as the Blasted Lands, where the orcs first appeared in Azeroth through the Dark Portal.

The Black Morass was once a wetland marsh much like the Swamp of Sorrows, but when the Dark Portal was opened, the dark energies of Draenor began sucking the life from the region, leaving it a dry wasteland.

It will be available as an in-game region with the expansion, accessible through the Caverns of Time.

the black morass is the blasted lands crater currently, they may add more of the zone but that is yet to be seen the portal is the dark portal it is even label dark portal in the animation files. It is possible that the current outland models will be reachable through this portal as the black morass is allot smaller than old hillsbrad. It may not even be outland because it looks nothing like the books descriptions of asteroids linked together by chains(similar to Blackrock mountain) it looks like durotar so it could be dreanor before the dark portal explosions.


i consider the current "outland" (ITS FREAKING DRENOR) models to be included in the black morass instance


it is believed by most lore nuts that outland will only be reachable by using medivh's spell book some people believe he had only one book so it must be with kel thuzad where ever he may be(HES NOT IN DALARAN READ UP) or if he happened to have more than one spell book its in kharazan no one is sure so going through the CoT to the black morass and the dark portal would bring u to dreanor not outland (there is a difference) these seem like origin quest lines. as in old hillsbrad u have to rescue thrall. in the black morrass u have to do something with the dark portal and in hyjal u have to defeat archimonde (or hold ihm off until malfurion can blow his horn.

The Black Morass is one of the three areas players can explore as part of the unreleased "Caverns of Time" instance.
