We would like to include player housing, but it is too early to determine whether doing so would be plausible.
Player housing was tested during the alpha of World of Warcraft. It has since then been abandoned and will most likely never be touched again.
This house is called GuildHouseA, could it've been intended for player guilds at first and later scrapped? This particular house can be found on GM Island.
Q: What are the plans for Housing in the World of Warcraft?
A: Player housing will not be available until after World of Warcraft has been released. Our plan is to add player housing in a future live update or expansion. Our current idea (which could change) is to extend the cities to have player housing neighborhoods. For example, in the canal area of Stormwind players can see a blue instance portal behind a large portcullis; this is the entrance to the player housing neighborhood in Stormwind.
Very little is known about Player and Guild housing as tested during Alpha. The screen shot at the top of the page is the only known image of housing in World Of Warcraft. It would, at the very least, provide a common area to congregate and store items.
